These two had asked me to do a best friends session in the fall. Well that didn’t pan out so we decided to wait for the snow. Thankfully we got some over the holidays. Man it was cold but we braved through it! There was so much laughing going on during this session it was contagious!! These are two really special gals! If you are lucky enough to know them then count yourself blessed. you can tell they have a deep love for each other i think they really will be forever friends!!

These pictures are a long time coming.. i’m still trying to catch up on my blogging and these should of been up on the blog long ago.  I love this family! they are so sweet. i first met them last year when mom was a just a few days from delivering her adorable baby girl!! now she’s a year old and still has a great head of hair!!

It was a cool rainy morning but it was a now or never situation!  Thankfully the rain started to fall just as we finished up!

Three sisters are we
I love each of you,
And I know you love me

spent a warm fall evening with these 3 sisters!!! i know they are going to grow up having so much fun together.. and lets be honest i bet they will have some epic battles too! lol but for now it’s lots of giggles and playing house, having tea parties, colouring and taking care of baby dolls!!

love these three very special and adorable sisters!

there’s no place like home…

these girls are big time supporters of local girl Danielle Wade who won the part of Dorothy in the Over the Rainbow show that’s been on cbc the last couple months!! So i thought a wizard of Oz title would be appropriate!

wow i am so behind in blogging… i pretty much abandoned my poor blog and have been too busy photography a ton of fun families.. i’m up to my eye balls in editing and needed to take a quick break to post some pictures of these gorgeous girls!!!

This was my first session to start my busy fall season. i should of had them up on the blog already. it was still warm out and the leaves were just starting to change. It’s amazing how fast the seasons change as i look out my window at the bare trees…

two beautiful sisters…inside and out!!!

cause we’re the best of friends…

i’ve been so busy i haven’t had time to blog all these adorable kids and families i’ve photographed the past few weeks.. so prepare yourselves for a lot of blog posts over the next week or two!!!

so a couple weeks ago i spent some time with this adorable brother and sister duo!!! i’ve photographed sweet little miss a couple years ago but this was a first for her little brother. both kids did great and we had fun exploring the park!! These are some seriously good looking kids!!!!

oh the places you’ll go…

I had the pleasure of meeting one of my favorite family’s newest little member!! This sweet little boy was welcomed into a loving family and has two adorable older brothers to show him the ropes!! i first met this family a couple years ago when the second oldest was born and i’ve thoroughly enjoyed documenting them as they’ve grown.

just look at that sweet face!!

i can’t believe how much this little guy has grown since i saw him last year.  he had long hair and still had his baby look… he’s looks soo grown up now!!

life story series | daily life

Friday, September 28th, 2012

well we made it!!! the 12th month of the life story series!!!! i can’t believe i made it the whole year without missing a month!! if you don’t know what the life story series is…well…where have you been?!?!? kidding.. ok you can read about it here.

i wasn’t sure what i would do this month. every life story over the past year i always had some sort of theme..something we would do….that i would try to capture. Some of the other photographers who are participating in this project were saying they didn’t know what to do this month.. i was one of them.. someone simply said “daily life?” i knew that’s what i had to do.. after all isn’t this what life stories are all about.. the mundane daily life and trying to capture it in a way that we will cherish later.. capturing our loved ones as they are..in real life just being them.

so for the last 4 days i’ve done just that.. captured a few moments of the mundane. no special trips to the park or anything particularly fun. just us having an average week… i sort of wish i started a few days earlier and got a whole week. but it is what it is.. capturing insignificant little moments….

moments like waiting for the school bus

hiding in the “fort”

moments like snuggling with max after school

playdates with BFF’s..where little brother gets to join in the fun

digging for dinosaurs

and hockey practice

reading to a friend

bedtime snacks

and 2 naughty cats playing with a new.. very large toy

life story series | cottage life

Friday, August 31st, 2012

i can’t believe this is the 11th month of the life story series. incase you don’t know what that is all about well i’m participating in a monthly project with a few amazing photographers.. it’s a big blog circle and at the end of my post you can click the link to the next photographer in the circle. each month we share images of our own family…just being them. we take the time to capture moments big or small that we might not of normally pulled the camera out to capture.

This month i am sharing our annual trip to my parents cottage. we always have a fun time when we are up there.. there is so much to see and do and there is also a lot of relaxing and down time.

Though i did pull out my big camera here and there most of my images were shot with my new lumix.. it is so nice to have a smaller more portable camera other then my cell phone!! There are a lot of pictures… consider yourself warned! and make sure you click on the link at the end of the post to see the beautiful work of the amazingly talented Taryn Chrapkowski.

now it’s time to continue on the circle… so please click this link and head over to see the beautiful work of my friend Taryn over at Taryn Lisa Photography.

i was so thrilled when i opened my email and read that a wonder past client had given birth to another baby boy and wanted me to photograph him! they are such a sweet family and i was super happy to see them again! big brother has grown up to be an adorable toddler and kept me entertained with some enthusiastic dancing to the wiggles Dr. Nickerbocker!!! so funny! But baby brother stole the show.. such a cutie pie!
just look at that gorgeous little face….

Life Story Series | the story of being patient

Friday, June 29th, 2012

need a reminder as to what the life story series is… click here

i’ve had a frame on my mantel over my fireplace for almost 2 years now.. it’s been empty up until a couple months ago.  i really wanted a image of my three kids snuggled up.  is that too much to ask? Yes i guess it is cause it took me almost 2 years to get lol.  my kids are pretty much over me taking their picture.. they’ve endured a lot.  and my middle son especially gives me such a hard time.. just look at the camera buddy and smile.. really just one second of a smile is all i need.. nope not happening

Sure they are not all looking and smiling perfect at me. but i love it. i love that he decided to be a tease and give her a kiss.. without me asking him too.  i love that i was able to capture a real moment. that i kept my annoyance inside and just let him be a goof and waited and waited for the right moment.

now click on the link to see the wonderful work of Laura Morita Yeun.  she is super talented and i always look forward to her blog posts!!!
